What to do nearby

Siedlisko Ogródek The TinyHouse sits on the edge of the forest, so you can head out each day either along woodland paths or along the quiet local road for an easy walk. We are always happy to show you a few gentle routes in the area. Some are almost completely empty, while others lead to places such as the historic war cemeteries scattered across these hills.

Open our local map with walks, food spots, and favourite trips nearby.

We also recommend:

  • A lazy paddle in the Łososina river — we can point you towards a few of our favourite spots, some more hidden and wild, others easier to reach.
  • A visit to the open-air ethnographic museum at Jędrzejówka in Laskowa — a private collection created by Barbara and Krzysztof Jędrzejek. Today it includes eight buildings and small traditional structures such as wooden shrines, a 19th-century roadside stone chapel, an apiary with a collection of old beehives, and a reconstruction of a tree-trunk beehive carved into a huge oak trunk.
  • Swimming in Lake Rożnów, renting kayaks or a SUP board, or taking a boat trip from the dam in Rożnów to Gródek nad Dunajcem.
  • A stop by one of our favourite lake spots — this is a lovely option if you want time by the water, and it is close to our own little private beach: super secret, secluded, and available for guests to use when it is free. It is also within walking distance of Noi restaurant. You can find the spot here on Google Maps.
  • A trip to another beautiful lakeside spot nearby — a good choice for a relaxed outing around the water, whether you feel like a scenic stop, a short wander, or combining it with other lake activities in the area. We also have a small private beach that guests can use when it is available. You can see the location here on Google Maps.
  • A visit to the Sądecki Ethnographic Park — a rich collection of wooden architecture from across the Sądecczyzna region, with traditional Lemko, Pogórze, Lach, and Sądecki Highlander culture on display.
  • A day trip to the Bochnia Salt Mine and Wiśnicz Castle — these two make an easy and very enjoyable combination for one day out.
  • Climbing Kamionna — a peak in the Beskid Wyspowy at 801 m above sea level, with a viewing tower on top. On a clear day you can see the Tatras, the Gorce, Beskid Sądecki, Beskid Niski, Beskid Żywiecki, and even Kraków and the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland.
  • A trip to Szczawnica — walk beside the Dunajec, rent bikes for the Szczawnica to Sromowce Niżne route, or take the traditional wooden raft trip through the Dunajec Gorge. Any of these make for a beautiful journey among limestone cliffs and winding river bends.
  • The ruins of the royal castle in Czchów — set on the top of the sandstone Baszta hill, around 310 m above sea level, with a striking oval tower from the 13th and 14th centuries. From the top there is a wide view over the valley, the river bend, the dam, and Lake Czchów.
  • Nowy Wiśnicz Castle — dating back to the early 14th century, this impressive four-winged castle with a courtyard and four towers stands on the northern edge of a ridge above the Leksandrówka valley.

Where to eat

There are several very good restaurants in our area where you can enjoy food made with fresh, local ingredients.

We especially recommend the restaurant in Żmiąca, Przy Młynie. In summer, it is also worth visiting the fish ponds in Żmiąca, where you can eat delicious trout outdoors. Another lovely option is Bacówka na Zadzielu — ideal if you would like to combine a meal with a walk to the viewing tower on Kamionna afterwards.

In the spring and summer season, do not miss the cafe and ice cream place in Laskowa. In the holidays, if you are visiting the open-air museum in Laskowa, stop by the charming little cafe beside it and treat yourself to delicious homemade cakes.

If you feel like a short trip, head to Limanowa. You will find a great cafe there, Charlotte, and after coffee you can take a walk up Miejska Góra. For an excellent meal, we recommend MeatMe.

Please remember to check opening hours before you go.
